Headline: Victoria Jones joins Community Bank of the Bay board of directors

OAKLAND, Calif. (Nov. 21, 2006) – Community Bank of the Bay (CBYAA.OB), has announced that Victoria Jones, director of government affairs and community relations for The Clorox Company, has joined the bank’s board of directors.
“Victoria has long-established roots in Oakland and her effective leadership of key organizations, like the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, has demonstrated her commitment to the economic vitality of our community,” said Brian Garrett, president and chief executive officer. “The substantial community and governmental relations experience she brings to the board will be invaluable to the bank.”
Jones is responsible for managing The Clorox Company’s federal, state and local government affairs and community relations, including The Clorox Company Foundation. Prior to joining Clorox in 1995, she was the state affairs manager for the Southern California Gas Company in Sacramento, where she served as liaison between the company and California legislators. She previously held a variety of management positions in public affairs, marketing and human resources while at SoCal Gas.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to sit on the bank’s board,” Jones said, “and to support its goal to help small businesses and innovators in Oakland and the East Bay be successful. Small businesses are the foundation of our community, providing opportunities, generating jobs and delivering valued products and services.”
Jones was named 2005 Woman of Distinction in Excellence by the East Bay Business Times. She is active in numerous state and national professional associations and has held leadership roles in various Oakland and East Bay community and economic development organizations. She has been a member of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce executive committee since 2002 and served as chair of the board for the 2005-2006 term.
She is a founding board member and vice chair of the Oakland African-American Chamber of Commerce, and previously served as a board member of the Bay Area Urban League. Jones is also co-owner of The UPS Store in Richmond.
Jones was born and raised in Oakland and is an alumnus of Pepperdine University. She also holds a master’s degree in business administration from Golden Gate University.
“I remember when downtown and other parts of Oakland were bustling with business,” said Jones. “I believe Community Bank is helping to restore that vitality, and it is a privilege for me to be part of that mission.”
